Public event scheduled for August 10 at Station Corona del Mar

Division 6 members are needed at USCGC Narwhal’s open house on August 10, 2024. Volunteers are needed anytime within 08:30 to 15:00; public hours are 10:00 to 14:45.
Narwhal (WPB 87335) is an 87-foot Marine Protector Class coastal patrol cutter commanded by LTJG Annabella Farrabaugh, and has been based in CdM since 2001. The 87-foot class is typically crewed by 10.
To volunteer, contact Division 6 SO-MA Diane Heyman at [email protected].
Here is the downloadable public press release, and an 8.5×11-inch handout that can be printed in black-and-white or color.
The open house is an official Coast Guard and Auxiliary public affairs event. UOD is trops.
Coastie the robotic cutter will be there to entertain kids (and more than a few adults, no doubt), and Auxiliarists will have information booths and assist with boarding. Narwhal will remain moored to its 120-foot dock during the open house.
Coast Guard Station Corona del Mar is at 1911 Bayside Drive in Corona del Mar, adjacent to the Orange County Sheriff’s Harbor Patrol Bureau. The Coast Guard base is quite small, so all Auxiliarists and the public must park on the street.
